What are the energy storage batteries?

Time:Feb 15, 2023 Views:985

Energy storage batteries generally refer to energy storage batteries. Energy storage can be divided into mechanical energy storage and chemical energy storage. The mechanical energy storage can be divided into pumping energy storage, compressed air storage, and flywheel energy storage; chemical energy storage is also the battery we usually call, which can be divided into lead -acid batteries, nickel batteries, lithium -line batteries, liquid flow batteries , Sodium sulfur battery.

1. Lead -acid battery

Lead -acid batteries are a kind of electrode importantly made of lead and its oxides. The electrolyte is a battery of sulfate solution. In the discharge state of lead -acid batteries, the important component of the positive pole is lead dioxide, and the important component of the negative pole is lead; in the charging state, the important component of the positive and negative poles is lead sulfate.

The advantages of lead -acid batteries are: safety sealing, discouraged system, simple maintenance, long service life, stable quality, and high reliability; the disadvantage is that the contamination of lead and low energy density (that is, too bulky).

2. Nickel battery

Nickel -hydride batteries are a good -performance battery. Nickel -metal hydride battery positive active substances are NI (OH) 2 (called NIO electrodes). The negative active substances are metal hydrogen, also known as hydrogen storage alloys (electrodes are called hydrogen storage electrodes), and the electrolyte is 6mol/L potassium hydroxide solution.

The advantages of nickel -metal hydride batteries are: high energy density, fast charging and discharge speed, light weight, long life, no environmental pollution; the disadvantage is that slight memory effects, more management problems, and easy to form a single battery partition melting.

3. Lithium battery

Lithium -ion batteries are a type of battery that consists of lithium metal or lithium alloy as negative electrode materials and uses non -hydraulic solution. Because the chemical characteristics of lithium metal are very lively, the processing, preservation and use of lithium metal are very high. With the development of science and technology, lithium ion batteries have now become mainstream.

The advantages of lithium -ion batteries are: long service life, high storage energy density, light weight, and strong adaptability; the disadvantage is poor safety, explosion, high cost, and limited use conditions.

4. Liquid battery

The liquid flow storage battery is a type of device suitable for fixed large -scale energy storage (power storage). Compared with the current commonly used lead -acid batteries, nickel -cadmium batteries, etc. (Energy storage medium is stored outside the battery), the advantages of high efficiency, long life, deep discharge, and environmental friendship are one of the preferred technologies for scale energy storage technology.
