The standardization of power lithium battery has a long history. For a long time, the specification and size of power lithium battery, especially the single battery cell, are not uniform, which has always been one of the important contradictions in the cooperation between the host factory and power lithium ion battery company, and also a major obstacle to the further development of China's power lithium battery industry, bringing great pressure to the host factory and lithium ion battery factory.
The power change mode of new energy vehicles has not been unified in terms of the lithium-ion battery standard. There are not many participants in the power change mode, and it has not been widely recognized by industry players. There is still a big bottleneck to popularize the power change in a large area.
First, the size and specification of lithium ion batteries should be unified. Because different models leave different space for lithium-ion batteries, the battery packs used by different models of different vehicle enterprises are completely different, which requires power station operators to store and manage a variety of battery packs, greatly improving operating costs and reducing operating efficiency. Only when the energy density is large enough and the volume of the lithium-ion battery is small enough will it be easier to make a standardized design.
Second, operators should share data. Because the lithium-ion battery management system (BMS) has a lot of communication with the vehicle mounted system and the cloud background, if different types of batteries switch back and forth, the communication protocol and data must be shared.
Third, the placement of lithium-ion batteries is different, which leads to a cost in terms of battery replacement. According to the brand types of vehicles, power replacement means that different lithium-ion batteries should be stored in the power station. In terms of cost, it undoubtedly increases the operating costs.
Fourth, from the perspective of the quality assurance problem of lithium-ion batteries, the warranty period and time are different for different models and different years, especially for some lithium-ion batteries with battery recession. As for the power change mode, how to solve the quality assurance problem of lithium-ion batteries for vehicles with battery recession and vehicles with different warranty period and time.
At present, new energy vehicles not only lack unified standards in terms of power lithium-ion batteries, but also in terms of charging piles and vehicle diagnosis. This has a lot to do with the current situation of the development of new energy vehicles, so it is urgent to establish a unified standard for the healthy development of new energy vehicles.
Therefore, power lithium ion battery companies should attach great importance to the use of standards, regulations and supervision, and strictly follow the standards and regulations in production, management and operation. Promote the healthy development of new energy automobile insurance and other aftermarkets through standardized construction and excellent product quality.
Several reasons for the difficulty in unifying the standardization of power lithium batteries
● From the perspective of vehicle enterprises, the selection of power lithium batteries is often based on the mastery of battery technology and the positioning of products. The types, models and other technical parameters of power lithium batteries are different passively;
● Thirdly, as the power lithium battery industry is in the primary stage and companies are still exploring, there is a lack of giants in the industry that can guide the formation of standardization.
● In addition, both battery and electric vehicle companies regard the design, engineering and control strategies of batteries and battery packs as core technologies and important intellectual property rights. For the sake of confidentiality, most companies are unwilling to disclose the parameters of their own power lithium batteries, which makes the formulation of industry standards lose the necessary technical parameters as a reference.
I believe that the promotion of the power change mode should speed up the standardization of lithium-ion batteries, but it is difficult to unify the power change standards. Each company has its own standards and design ideas, which is also the fundamental reason why the power change mode has been implemented for many years but cannot usher in large-scale development.
